Attorney Biography
Blaise Curet is a shareholder with Sinnott, Puebla, Campagne & Curet, APLC. He joined the firm in 1995 having previously practiced with several of the partners in the firm of Buchalter, Nemer, Fields and Younger. Prior to that Mr. Curet handled a broad array of defense and coverage work with Boornazian, Jensen & Garthe in Oakland, CA. After leaving the Boornazian firm Mr. Curet worked four years at the Buchalter firm, focusing exclusively on coverage issues including several high profile claims involving the Safeway Fire Litigation and a number of appeals involving developing issues surrounding personal and advertising injury coverages. Mr. Curet helped start the San Francisco office of Sinnott, Puebla, Campagne & Curet, APLC and currently manages the office.
Mr. Curet received his law degree from Golden Gate University in 1986 where he was a member of the law review and received an American Jurisprudence award for outstanding scholarship in Constitutional Law. Mr. Curet received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley, in Political Science and Political Economy of Industrial Societies.
In over twenty-one years as a lawyer, Mr. Curet has represented insurers in coverage, bad faith, and related issues and, for the last thirteen years, concentrated on medical malpractice and related MICRA matters, construction defect and other general liability claims. He has tried coverage, bad faith and other general liability actions, and successfully argued cases to the California and Federal Court of Appeals. His practice has evolved to include policy development, claim handling and underwriting counseling and advice, and insurer training.
Mr. Curet has lectured and written extensively on case law developments and substantive issues relating to insurers, including Mealey's Litigation Reports, Covered Events (DRI), National Business Institute, and Lorman Education Services. Prior to the law, Mr. Curet was an operations manager for Security Pacific National Bank.
